They are certainly a group to know and appreciate in the scene. They have a laundry list of accomplishments, playing the most famous Japanese venue Nippon Budokan in 2006, and then the largest performance space in Japan, Tokyo Dome in 2010, following multiple festival appearances and three successful world tours with as their website says, “ the GazettE continue moving forward uncompromised in their artistic and unique world view to show it to their home ground country and abroad“.
Having 18 year long career (as of writing), with 24 singles, 6 EP’s, 3 compilation albums, and 9 studio albums. The GazettE is one of the most widely well-known Visual Kei band’s globally. Yune would leave the group in 2003, being replaced by Kai, formerly the drummer of Mareydi†Creia, who would volunteer to become the group’s leader, and then their line-up was finalized. From the disbanded band Artia, they recruited Aoi, the second guitar, and Yune their original drummer.
They had been involved in Visual Kei prior to this band forming, and the GazettE would be their last band. So let’s get going!Īs per usual, let’s get a brief background of the band shall we? the GazettE was formed in 2002 in Kanagawa Prefecture by Ruki the vocalist, Reita the bassist and Uruha the lead guitar. However, it is, the one and only the GazettE’s turn to be featured! For those in the know, it’s a pretty iconic collaboration as well. It is now the 8th edition of Visual Kei&Anime! What a time!
